Abstract (original English)

Three-dimension (3D) printing technology has allowed surgeons to plan their surgical procedures and fabricate customized implants and replacement tissues. We have used 3D printing successfully for reconstructing large, full thickness chest wall defects with customized, anatomically designed, 3D printed titanium implants. 3D bioprinting has emerged as a promising new approach for fabricating complex biological constructs in the field of tissue engineering and may provide a better living tissue alternative for such reconstruction.

What this study does not prove

  • • This study does not prove SVF is an approved treatment or a replacement for standard care.
  • • This is a narrative review: it collects no new patient data and does not systematically appraise evidence quality.
